Tangshan's blast furnace shutdowns reduce capacity
The government of Tangshan City in Hebei Province says it will close 12 blast furnaces before the autumn to reduce emissions and cut steel production. Even if capacity is replaced, the closure of BFs is expected to reduce overall production capacity by approximately 1.65 million tonnes/year, Kallanish calculates based on the official capacity replacement table.
