Tangshan's Xinglong ceases steel production
Tangshan’s Xinglong Iron & Steel shut down its last 1,080-cubic-metre blast furnace and all of its rolling lines on 15 November. The company has now officially stopped steel production, Kallanish notes.
According to the air pollution control plan for Tangshan released on 30 October, the government required Xinglong to close down by 15 November and to stop all emissions.
