Tangshan tightens restrictions during holidays
Tangshan issued a large number of environmental fines during the Tomb-Sweeping long weekend, as well as stopping production at four steel mills, Kallanish notes.
From 1 to 4 April, Tangshan’s Ecology and Environment Bureau issued 48 notices of environmental violation penalties with a total of CNY 19.2 million ($2.9m) in fines. Among them, Tangshan Medium Thick Plate Co received 11 tickets, and its fines totalled CNY 5.87m.
