Tangshan details steelmaking removal/relocation plans for 2019
China’s Tangshan City local government released its air pollution control plan for 2019 on 14 May, Kallanish notes. This involves details of its plans to relocate steel mills and upgrade equipment.
The city intends to remove 10.07 million tonnes of steelmaking capacity, 8.04mt of ironmaking capacity and 500,000t of coal production in 2019. Several steelmaking companies and thermal power plants are now in the process of relocating.
