Tangshan Jing'an Steel closes two converters
According to an official announcement by the Tangshan government on 7 January, Jing'an Steel in Tangshan city closed two converters in 2019 for its replacement project, Kallanish notes.
In total, the steelmaker closed down 2.2 million tonnes/year of crude steel capacity from a 60-tonne converter and a 120-t converter. 775,000 t/y of steel capacity from its 60-t converter and 1.35m t/y steel capacity from the 120-t converter are part of the replacement project.…
