Tangshan Fengrun rolling mills suspend production
Re-rolling mills in Tangshan City’s Fengrun District have been required to stop production from 22 April until the end of this month. This is another measure to improve air quality after restrictions on the coking industry late last week, Kallanish notes.
The move is expected to result in 58,000 tonnes/day of less finished steel output, and 522,000t over the entire period. Tangshan billet prices remained unmoved on Wednesday at CNY 4,940/tonne ($761/t).
