Taiwan’s steel trade retreats in August
Suppressed by sluggish demand during summer, Taiwan’s trade of iron and steel products tumbled significantly in August from the prior month, according to data released by the Ministry of Finance.
Monthly export value totaled $1.83 billion, down 14.31% from July and 2.38% year-on-year, Kallanish observes. The year-to-date value reached $16.47 billion, surging 24.25% from a year earlier, though this was slower than the growth rate in July.
