Taiwan’s steel cross-border trade narrows decline
In February, the year-on-year decline in both exports and imports of iron and steel to and from Taiwan has narrowed compared with January. Monthly exports however dived deeper month-on-month, according to data from the Ministry of Finance.
February exports were down 3% m-o-m and 24.1% y-o-y at $1.43 billion, the lowest value in two years except for December last year. This took year-to-date exports to $2.91 billion, 28.1% lower y-o-y, Kallanish notes.
