Taiwan’s stainless steel producers face down weak demand
Demand for Taiwan’s stainless steel is under huge pressure due to mainland China’s Covid-19 lockdowns, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, global inflation and other factors, Kallanish notes.
Producers Yieh Hsing and Yeun Chyang say they still expect to complete their sales targets in May, but demand is expected to be worse in June. Yeun Chyang’s sales guidance for May is 15,000 tonnes.
