Taiwan's scrap prices remain stable

Taiwanese scrap prices attempted to increase this week due to firm overseas offers and improving domestic demand. Major Taiwanese steel mill Feng Hsin Iron & Steel has held its scrap prices stable but added TWD 200/t ($6.13/t) to its rebar offers. Its HMS 1 scrap purchase price is TWD 10,500/tonne ($322/t), while the list price for #5 (5/8 inches or 15.875mm nominal diameter base) rebar is TWD 19,300/t ($592) ex-works.
