Taiwan’s scrap imports jump in March
In March, Taiwan’s monthly scrap steel imports jumped again as imported prices remained competitive, and a shortage of domestic supply also prompted Taiwanese buyers to focus on imported sources, Kallanish notes.
A total of 300,311 tonnes of scrap steel was imported to Taiwan in March, up 29.5% month-on-month and by a quarter year-on-year, according to preliminary data provided by the Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance of Taiwan.
