Taiwan’s annual scrap imports slide
Taiwan’s annual scrap steel imports dropped in 2022, despite a rebound registered in December amid improving markets, Kallanish learns.
In December, Taiwan imported 267,284 tonnes of scrap steel under HS heading 7204, up 13.88% on-month and 13.17% on-year, according to the Customs Administration under the Ministry of Finance. The average price in the reporting month was $490/tonne, down 1.52% from November and 7.94% over the same month of 2022.
