Taiwanese scrap prices return to downtrend
The Taiwanese scrap market is back to a downtrend this week, with import offers falling and buyers reducing purchasing.
Containerised US-origin HMS 1&2 80:20 is now offered at $365/tonne cfr Taiwan, down by $5/t from the previous week. US suppliers are no longer sticking to their prices as they did last week, showing less confidence in the market. Offers for H2 scrap from Japanese suppliers have also lowered by $5/t to $375/t cfr Taiwan.
