Taiwanese scrap prices rise further despite slow demand
Strong overseas demand has led to a surge in global scrap prices, driving up scrap prices in Taiwan, Kallanish notes.
Compared with last week, HMS 1&2 80:20 container scrap from the US West Coast is offered higher by $5/tonne at $260/t cfr Taiwan. Supply remains tight and traders are only providing quantities below 500 tonnes.
