Taiwanese container scrap prices rise

The Taiwanese market for containerised scrap saw prices being hiked on less supply and higher global scrap prices, Kallanish notes. Better demand for rebar also improved the situation for Taiwan's local steelmakers. Major Taiwanese EAF mill Feng Hsin Iron & Steel lifted its scrap procurement price and rebar price both by TWD 200/tonne ($6.56/t) on Monday. Its purchase price for HMS 1 is now TWD 7,600/tonne and its ex-works list pā€¦
