Taiwanese container scrap dips further
The weakness in Taiwan’s market for US container scrap imports drags on this week, Kallanish notes. The importing EAF mills are bidding under offers because of low demand during the summer.
Offers for container HMS 1&2 80:20 from the US are prevailing at $328-330/tonne, while mills were indicating that they wanted to book at under $325/t cfr, a Taipei trader says. Deals last took place at $325-327/t cfr a week ago, he adds.
