Taiwan steel mills preview TWD 150/t carbon tax
Taiwanese steel mills have begun deploying carbon surcharge credits in advance to cope with the country’s upcoming carbon tax.
According to the latest market news, Shyeh Sheng Fuat Steel in Kaohsiung City announced it will impose a carbon surcharge of TWD 150/tonne ($4.6/t) on new orders to be shipped in 2024.
