Taiwan hikes scrap trading volume in February
Taiwan in February traded more scrap steel compared with the prior month, but volumes were down from the same period of 2022, according to data provided by the Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance of Taiwan.
Monthly imports of scrap steel amounted to 231,977 tonnes, up 21.1% month-on-month and down just 0.5% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. This took year-to-date imports to 423,472t, a decrease of 4.7% y-o-y.
