Taigang Stainless plans electric arc furnace upgrade
Taigang Stainless Steel, a subsidiary of Baowu’s Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Tisco), is seeking approval for its intelligent upgrade and renovation project.
The company intends to install a 90-tonne electric arc furnace at its No.1 steelmaking plant, and build a new rolling mill. Capacity is anticipated to reach 700,000 tonnes/year of stainless steel in 300 and 400 series, Kallanish note.
