Suzhou local government orders Sugang to quit melting
According to a release by Suzhou New District Commission in China, the government has instructed the Suzhou Steel Group (Sugang) to quit steelmaking. This is part of the national policy to reduce steel capacity, Kallanish notes.
Sugang had resumed the operation of its rolling mill at the end of February. The announcement did not specify a date by which steelmaking operations should cease.
