Sumitomo inaugurates Turkish electrical steel service centre
Sumitomo Corporation-owned Summit Steel Turkey (SST) has been officially inaugurated in Gemlik following the commencement of production in June, an SST source tells Kallanish.
The service centre will process up to 30,000 tonnes/year of grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) sourced mainly from Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC). Sales will mainly be targeted to transformer manufacturers in Europe.
