Sudden nickel jump seen impacting stainless prices
While Italian stainless steel coil, sheet and tube sales activity continues to stall this month, European producers are asking for increases on hot and cold rolled coil for January deliveries.
However, the steep jump in nickel prices on 14 November has taken the entire European sector by surprise and an impact on coil and stainless scrap values in Europe is expected in the coming days, sources in the sector tell Kallanish.
