Strong demand lifts Mechel’s ferroalloy sales

Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel’s Bratsk ferroalloy plant increased shipments in January-November, the company says. These amounted to 71,000 tonnes, up by 15% on- year, Kallanish notes. Demand increased for both grades of ferrosilicon BZF, with different silicon content, the enterprise claims. These products are in demand by metallurgical enterprises in Russia and abroad.
