Strong demand spurs further Turkish scrap hike
Turkish mills’ demand for scrap remained strong on Thursday, while prices continued to increase on fresh bookings.
A Turkish long steel mill has booked a Baltic-origin cargo comprising HMS 1&2 80:20 at $451/tonne and bonus grade at $466/t cfr Turkey, for November shipment.
Another long steel mill in the south has bought Venezuela-origin HMS 1&2 80:20 at $450/t cfr, for second-half-of-October shipment.
