Union call for strike at Stelco gains momentum
A call for a workers' strike against Canadian steel producer Stelco is gaining momentum as United Steelworkers (USW) labour union Local 8782-03 joins other members in arguing for a new collective contract agreement.
Approximately 100 members with USW Local 8782-03 employed at Stelco’s pickling operations in Nanticoke, Ontario, voted this week for a strike mandate following the deterioration of negotiation between the two parties at the end of last month.…
