Chinas steelmakers welcome return to nuclear investment
China’s State Council has approved the start-up of units 5 and 6 of the Hongyanhe nuclear power plant in the north-eastern province of Liaoning. The move marks the return of the world fastest growing nuclear power sector after a halt since 2011. Steelmakers, especially high-pressure pipe and boiler plate producers, are expected to see a surge in demand, Kallanish notes.
