Shanxi steelmakers cut capacity with furnace replacements
Two steelmakers in northern China's Shanxi province have announced plans to replace four blast furnaces with two more efficient furnaces, according to the Shanxi Provincial Commission of Economy and Information Technology. The steelmakers will see a total capacity cut of 90,000 tonnes/year of hot metal, Kallanish notes.
