Steel prices push upwards despite investment fears
Chinese steel prices increased on Monday driven by lower inventory. Investment figures released over the weekend however point to a weak demand outlook, Kallanish notes.
The May 2016 rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed up CNY 14/tonne at CNY 1,665/t ($258/t), while the same contract for hot rolled coil closed up CNY 46/t at CNY 1,792/t.
