Steel prepares for 'Mike Tyson' hurricane in Carolinas
US steel mills in the Carolinas and Virginia are buttoning up ahead of the expected landfall of Hurricane Florence, Kallanish understands.
Nucor has already communicated to the market that its Berkeley, South Carolina, and Hertford, North Carolina, facilities will be shuttered ahead of the storm. Similar announcements are expected from Gerdau and Commercial Metals Company, both of which have holdings in the Carolinas.
