Steel, iron ore prices rest after strong gains
Chinese steel futures and seaborne iron ore prices barely moved on Tuesday after strong gains on Monday. After Monday’s hikes buying levels dropped lower, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the January 2020 rebar contract closed at CNY 3,479/tonne ($488/t), 18/tonne lower than on Monday, while the same contract for hot rolled coil closed down CNY 6/t at CNY 3,522/t.
