Steel imports lead Port of Houston business up
The US Port of Houston saw a substantial uptick in through cargo in January and February, led by steel imports, Kallanish learns from a Port of Houston Authority release.
The port handled 6.1 million total short tons in January and February, up 7% compared with last year. That includes a 17% increase in steel imports, says port executive director Roger Guenther.
