U.S. steel imports grow year-on-year in October
The US imported 4,398,000 net tons (nt) of steel in October, or 12.8% more than in September this year, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), which bases its figures on preliminary Census Bureau data. Total year-to-date steel imports are 32.3% higher than in the first 10 months of 2013, Kallanish notes.
