Steel futures thrive for third day
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures on Thursday registered increases for the third day in a row. Domestic property prices rose in January, but rebar stocks have also continued to increase, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded May 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 80/tonne higher than Wednesday at CNY 4,146/t ($605/t), while the same contract for HRC gained CNY 57/t to CNY 4,229/t.
