Steel futures stay low as trading volume slumps
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures on Wednesday closed slightly higher than the prior day after two consecutive days of large losses. The average intraday trading prices were still about 0.5% lower however, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 7/tonne higher than Tuesday at CNY 3,675/t ($503/t), and the same contract for HRC gained CNY 8/t to CNY 3,767/t.…
