Steel futures hold as inventory turns higher
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures were at a standstill on Wednesday as the market remained quiet. This was despite overall stocks increasing in the past week alongside production, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 8/tonne lower than Wednesday at CNY 3,723/t ($514/t), while the same contract for HRC lost CNY 10/t to CNY 3,815/t.
