Steel futures hold firm with slight volatility
As market fundamentals have calmed slightly, Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures stood firm with a limited decline on Tuesday. HRC has been weaker than rebar in recent days, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the January 2022 rebar contract closed CNY 55/tonne lower than Monday at CNY 4,257/t ($666/t), and the same contract for HRC closed down CNY 62/t at CNY 4,502/t.
