Steel futures stabilise amid calmer atmosphere
As market sentiment gradually calmed after October's weak macro data shock, Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures stabilised on Tuesday, with only a slight decline due to weakening raw materials for coking coal and coke, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the January 2022 rebar contract closed CNY 10/tonne lower than Monday at CNY 4,128/t ($647/t), and the January 2022 contract for HRC closed down CNY 62/t at CNY 4,371/t.
