Steel futures stabilise after slump
After a rapid slump since Friday last week, Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures started to fluctuate violently on Tuesday as the market remained quiet, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 25/tonne higher than Monday at CNY 3,679/t ($511/t), while the same contract for hot rolled coil gained CNY 25/t to CNY 3,782/t.
