Steel futures slide on five-year price monitoring plans
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures were panicked on Tuesday by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC)’s plan to monitor commodity prices. This was despite Tangshan releasing new plans to reduce steelmakers’ emissions, which will affect production, Kallanish notes.
