Steel futures rise on continued inventory decline
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures rose further on Thursday following a surge in Wednesday’s steel transactions and continued inventory decline, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded May 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 9/tonne higher than Wednesday at CNY 4,225/t ($612/t), and the same contract for HRC gained CNY 16/t to CNY 4,320/t.
