Steel futures surge again on October production slump
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures reversed the decline of the previous two days and turned upward on Wednesday on low October steel output, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded January 2024 rebar contract ended Wednesday at CNY 3,920/tonne ($541/t), up CNY 64/t from the prior trading day. The same contract for HRC gained CNY 49/t to CNY 4,000/t.
