Steel futures rebound slowly amid fluctuation
Away from fundamentals, Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures continue to fluctuate, caught in a collision of policy-led news. Prices eventually rose slightly over Wednesday, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the May 2022 rebar contract closed CNY 52/tonne higher than Tuesday at CNY 4,786/t ($758/t), and the same contract for HRC closed up CNY 67/t at CNY 4,917/t.
