Steel futures rebound as inventories rise
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures rebounded slightly on Thursday after a two-day decline, supported by rising demand on a crude steel basis as forecast by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the October rebar contract closed CNY 87/tonne higher than Wednesday at CNY 5,101/t ($794/t), while the same contract for HRC closed up CNY 91/t at CNY 5,371/t.
