Steel futures plummet under overall pressure
Under pressure from international commodity prices and concerns about the growth rate of the domestic economy, China's rebar and hot rolled coil futures fell sharply along with raw material futures on Monday, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2022 rebar contract closed CNY 186/tonne lower than Friday at CNY 4,778/t ($727/t), and the same contract for HRC closed down CNY 185/t at CNY 4,889/t.
