Steel futures approach one-month high
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures continued to climb slowly and approached one-month highs on Monday due to support from credit policies for real estate. The gains were still weighed down by actual weak demand, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded January 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 11/tonne higher than Friday at CNY 3,648/t ($517/t), while the same contract for HRC gained CNY 31/t to CNY 3,751/t.
