Steel futures continue volatility as inventory divergence remains
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures prices extended their choppy trend on Thursday, even as the bearish sentiment was eager to recover after prices lingered at long-term lows, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2022 rebar contract closed CNY 36/tonne lower than Wednesday at CNY 4,209/t ($628/t), and the same contract for HRC closed down CNY 36/t at CNY 4,202/t.
