Steel futures keep rising on raw materials
Low inventories and an improving demand outlook have sharply lifted coal-related futures, which in turn supported Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures for a second day of gains, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the May 2022 rebar contract closed CNY 65/tonne higher than Monday at CNY 4,912/t ($762/t), and the same contract for HRC closed up CNY 81/t at CNY 5,061/t.
