Steel futures hold as market forecasts more restrictions
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures stabilised again on Tuesday after a two-day increase, alongside a quarrel about whether restrictions on production will again be tightened in winter, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the May 2022 rebar contract closed CNY 33/tonne lower than Monday at CNY 4,382/t ($689/t). Meanwhile, the same contract for hot rolled coil closed up CNY 15/t at CNY 4,550/t.
