Steel futures fall, market expects stimulus

Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures extended losses on Tuesday, with weaker market sentiment leading to a contraction in both futures and spot trading, Kallanish notes. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded January 2024 rebar contract closed at CNY 3,870/tonne ($542/t) on Monday, down CNY 1/t on the prior trading day.
