Steel futures fall briefly but inventory hastens decline
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures fell a little on Thursday, though inventories of both have sped up their decline. A weekly drop in apparent consumption put pressure on steel futures, Kallanish notes.
On 15 April on the Shanghai Futures Exchange, October 2021 rebar futures closed CNY 9/tonne lower than Wednesday at CNY 5,107/t ($783/t). The October 2021 contract for HRC closed down CNY 25/t at CNY 5,393/t.
